The interviews are an attempt to capture the experiences of people belonging to or associated with the deaf or hearing loss community. It is neither my intention nor effort to align with any specific views. In fact the idea is to widen my scope. The attempt is to let the interviewee present their lived and seen experiences. I am just a bystander, an observer. Never having met a deaf person in my life before meeting my own deaf son, one of the motivations for these interviews is to be able to see the challenges and experiences that my deaf son might go through. I thank all the interviewees for lending me their eyes only so briefly to take a peek into their world. Somewhere down the road it will also be a reminder that although everything felt hard, lonely and puzzling in the beginning, I had a whole village, most of them although strangers, helped me put the pieces together one at a time.
